"they help you get respect" now available

October 10, 2005

Carnegie Young People Initiative was pleased to launch “they help you get respect”: How Participation Workers help Children & Young People on Tuesday 11 of October 2005 at the 1st Annual PWNE Conference, at Regent’s College, London.

This brand new booklet and DVD package was created by members of the Participation Workers Network for England (PWNE) as an introduction to ‘participation work’. It is a valuable tool for all those who wish to improve the way they involve children & young people – not just ‘Participation Workers’.

“they help you get respect” draws on the ideas and experiences of children & young people and adult participation workers from all over England.

It describes what participation work involves, explains why it is so valuable to children & young people – in their own words, and gives key tips for effective practice. It also provides details of the PWNE -set up to help all adult workers get the support they need.
